An Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer abused his position and used his work-issued phone to alert three Chinese nationals working illegally here to impending raids. Chin Peng Sum, 51, also texted the women for massages, the court heard. His offences came to light when police arrested one of the women for vice-related activities on May 31, 2017, and his messages were found on her mobile phone. Yesterday, District Judge Jasbendar Kaur said Chin had committed an "extensive abuse of power and trust", before sentencing him to three years in jail.
