Dos and Don'ts in a Job Interview



>  Please do a practice run to the job location. Find out where to park your car or to get off from the public transportation.

>  Research your employer. Find out about  their products / services from social websites.

>  Prepare intelligent questions to ask about the job. Having no question to ask may show a lack of interest or preparation.

>  Do practice answering common job interview questions.

>  Dress for the occasion. Keep in mind the job, company and the industry.

>  Do plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early, late arrival is wrong.

>  If presented with job application/form, do fill it completely & accurately. Do not lie.

Shake hands firmly. Make eye contact. Smile when you are introduced to someone.

>  Wait until you are offered a chair before sitting.

>  Avoid using bad language or slangs.

>  Focus on what you can do for the company.

>  Speak clearly.


>  Don’t dress inappropriately.

>  Don’t arrive late.

>  Don’t eat, drink or chew gum during an interview.

>  Don’t answer cell phones.

>  Don’t act desperate

>  Don’t say anything negative about your colleagues or Boss.

Don’t fidget or shake legs.

>  Don’t lie.

>  Do not ask personal questions

Don’t share too much information or get too friendly.

Don’t wear bright colors.

>  Don’t dress too casually.

>  Don’t wear too much perfume.

>  Don’t be over confident.

>  Don’t argue with interviewer or complain.

>  Don’t touch your face or neck or hairs this will make you look nervous.

>  Don’t cross your arms on your chest.

>  Don’t get impatient.

>  Don’t go to an interview without doing homework.

>  Don’t exaggerate your previous experiences or skills.

>  Don’t yawn or sound confused or disinterested.
